Catnip Trip

Catnip Trip poem by Jake Waller

Woolly-eyed, wool

ball running…away

Should I chase it? leave it

stretch, relax and stretch again

the scent takes all my senses,

I’m floating and I’m senseless

Bliss

now up, to leap, and lick

and claw, and roll

And down

purring to

Sleep

and dream

of my sweet

nepeta cataria

Catnip Trip is a gorgeous poem by Jake Waller, it is written from the point of view of a cat. Catnip is a very strong mint which is extremely attractive to cats and this poem shows the cats excitement and love for the mint. The poem also beautifully describes how cats act in their natural state.
