A stray cat in Turkey accidentally strolled into a studio, interrupted the show, became a social media star and also gained a new home from the intrusion.
The adorable stray cat trespassed the “Good Morning Denizli” show, which is presented by Kudret Çelebioğlu, the show is filmed live and broadcast on DRT. At first, the cat wandered around the studio, climbing onto bits of furniture and at one point even looked a part of the team but putting its paws on the desk. The cat was distracting the presenter.
The unexpected co-presenter walked right across the desk and even got a little stroke by the presenter. The cute little trespasser looked into the camera like a true little professional and sat down on the laptop – obviously to do some research for the show.
Kudret Çelebioğlu did an incredible job at carrying on presenting the show, unfazed and very professional. Much better than we could have possibly done when such an adorable kitten walking around in front of us. He made a comment about there being a “surprise guest” in the studio, before returning back to presenting the daily news and headlines.

The stray kitten probably decided to settle on the laptop because it was a warm place. Which is also what the presenter stated on his show. He mentioned that stray cats are in desperate need of a bit of love as the weather gets colder, he said that they are getting hungry and people should make sure to feed them and make sure they are healthy when they are spotted on the street.
The cat has been named Hüsnü and has apparently been adopted by a member of staff at the station, giving the little presenting star a happy ending.
The cat has also become a social media star, with tweets about the cat getting thousands of retweets each, with some telling the presenter they know exactly how he feels as their cats climb all over their work and laptops too.
Stray cats are a prominent feature of Turkey with thousands roaming about the streets of Istanbul. They are treated very well by locals with them often being left food, water and cardboard boxes filled with warm materials to act as beds. There are so many stray cats today because at one point they were bred to get rid of all their vermin in the city, they hold a very special place in people’s lives, so much so, that in 2012 the ruling Justice and Development Party tried to pass a legislation which would clear the streets of stray animals but the plan was scrapped after approximately 30,000 people took to Istanbul’s streets in protest. There’s no need to worry about the stray cats, they’re completely looked after.
We know the little kitten will have a very happy life now off the streets and hopefully with loads of warm laptops to sleep on. We also hope his one minute of fame doesn’t go straight to his head.
