The Hunt/Safety/Sundays (A Triplet of Haikus)

The Hunt/Safety/Sundays (A Triplet of Haikus)  (by Jake Waller)

Silhouette on fence

Eyes glow, silent, then leaping

Mouse never saw it

Curled in a basket

Chasing wool by the fire

Cats safe from winter

Stretching in the sun

Lazing atop hot tin roofs

Blissful feline days

The envious life of being a cat, a meal whenever they want, a nap by a cosy fire whenever they want and a nice sunbathe whilst everybody else is working. Jake Waller perfectly and poetically describes the perfect life of a cat which we all wish we could have.
